Sean John Combs, known by his stage name Puff Daddy, is a talented American rapper and music producer. Born on November 4, 1969, in Manhattan, New York, his mother, Janice Smalls, was a model, and his father, Melvin Earl Combs, served in the U.S. Air Force. His father was also an associate of an American drug trafficker and was killed when Sean was just two years old. The young Combs graduated from a Roman Catholic academy and later enrolled at Harvard University, where he studied business. He initially dropped out but eventually returned to earn a doctorate.
Music Career
Combs’s music career kicked off in the 1990s. He started as a talent director intern at Uptown Records. During his time there, the young and gifted Sean Combs successfully launched the careers of American singer Mary J. Blige and the group Jodeci. However, Combs was later fired. Soon after, he co-founded his own label, Bad Boy Entertainment, in partnership with Arista Records.
